the '97 still life piece is special in many ways. first and foremost, it was one of the last print series that lichtenstein ever signed. secondly, it was a unique combination of the styles and subject matter that had been developed over 50 years, most notably the 'reflection' series. but more importantly this piece was part of a charitable project for a personal friend who supported the estate project (for artisits with aids). throughout lichtenstien's career he had been a great benefactor for various charities that supported people who were suffered from their health.
